For the final project, we were given different short stories. Mine is a story name " A knot of silence".Based on the story that given, we have to break it into 5 scenes base on the 5 narrative structure of the plot diagram and chose 1 scene to illustrate and animate it.

After separate the 5 scenes, i chose the end scene to work on:

I looked towards the house’s gate and saw two of his friends standing by it.
He leaned in and said something to me. I didn’t understand his words—but I nod as if I got it.
“I am so happy that we met! Please come and visit again!” I called out to him in Cantonese
for the last time.
He nods with a polite smile and goes on to join his friends.

So for this scene i make my own "kid", a teenager waving his hand, looks like he is saying goodbye.I research for some goodbye moments on google for my mood board.

For the concept board, i find some suitable color scheme for the work and also some beautiful sky, and others elements that i want to draw.

Here are the progress from sketch to digitize on Illustrator. The 7th image was my first outcome before getting feedback from Mr Hafiz. Mr Hafiz said that the black background really harsh on eye while others is well. So i change the background color and also add some building behind so it won't be too empty.

We were also required to animate our work. My first idea come from my head is waving his hand while suddenly another idea pop out. As i chose the end scene for my work, and i remember that the old cartoon such as tom and jerry, scooby doo and so on, the closing scene for every episode which zoom into the circle and end the episode. So i do it as well, to show that this is the end of the story.
